Legal Marketing Coordinator (Beijing) [JP] - Neg.
Our client, a top 10 international law firm, is looking for a Marketing Coordinator for their Beijing office.

Requirements

  • High calibre marketing / business development professional with existing qualifications and commitment to increase his / her professionalism.
  • Substantial and relevant marketing experience within a professional services organisation, or similar.
  • Enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of the key practice areas in China and Asia in terms of the market, the work and relevant issues, the key players, the competition, and approaches involved in this area.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral, in English and in Mandarin Chinese.
  • High attention to detail and strong client focus. Commercial mindedness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - with partners, associates, PSLs, PAs and business development colleagues, management and other support and administration personnel, as well as clients and external suppliers.

Responsibilities
    • Marketing - Running the full marketing mix.
    • Business planning - Assisting the Business Development Manager in writing and implementing the China business development plan and monitoring the planned budget.
    • Client targeting - development, maintenance and reporting on a focused client targeting programme for the key China / Asia clients. Work closely with Hong Kong and London / other international partners and business development teams to develop a co-ordinated client targeting / client care programme. Using market research and intelligence to identify new client or market targeting opportunities, recommend new business development ideas and suitable actions, and work with the partners responsible to make them happen.
    • Internal communications - building and maintaining a flow of information (e.g. market intelligence and opportunities for client wins) to partners and associates; providing regular communication within the group about marketing initiatives; work with business development co-ordinators responsible for related areas to co-ordinate client targeting activity.
    • Marketing events, literature - Develop close working relationships with the associates, the Professional Support and PR team to develop original and creative ideas for promoting the group both internally and externally. Devising original marketing initiatives for the group.Organising small and large scale marketing events (involving influencing partners over decisions re venue, target market, proposed content, design of flyer/invite, costs) and production of creative literature. Developing a practical post event follow up programme to ensure that every potential business development opportunity is pursued.
    • Pitching and processes – Working with Hong Kong to ensure that we develop an efficient process for the capture of deals and cases and for their retrieval for inclusion in credentials, proposals, the website and other marketing materials. Drafting research briefings, proposals and credentials statements, sometimes at very short notice. Develop effective marketing processes (e.g. client database system, intranet and internet sites).
    • Profile/PR - working with the PR manager to maintain effective press coverage on key issues and market developments in China, drafting entries to legal directories.
    • Cross practice integration - using an understanding of the firm's partner and business development network to develop new opportunities and leverage innovative ideas from other practice areas.

    Billing Operations Manager - HK$40K - 50K
    Our client, an international professional firm, is looking for an experienced Billing Operations Manager.

    Requirements
    • Excellent spoken and written English and Cantonese
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience at a supervisory level with experience in billing operations training
    • Able to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to deal with staff of different level of seniority;
    Responsibilities
    • Supervise a billing team, Administration working and management work, accounting knowledge is an advantage
    • Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for:
    • Support e-billing function
    • Supervising billing supervisors and a team of 20 billing administrators and billing operation support staff
    • Ensure that all billable unbilled time are billed in a timely manner
    • Follow up with partners on aged unb\illed time
    • Co-ordinate with various departments to ensure the smooth running of billing operations in a cost-effective manner
    • Develop and train billing administrators in HK, PRC, Vietnam and Manila to prepare bills in English and to a lesser extent, in Chinese
    • Lead the automation of bill template project and the billing information system project
    • Ensure that the billing operations is run efficiently and effectively through constant review and improvement of operation procedures and other strategies
