Requirements

Responsibilities

Lead the organization utilizing Corporate Engineering best practices, such as Project Management, DFM, DFA, FMEA, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the HK/China sourcing teams to ensure products are designed with product safety in mind at all stages and meet relevant safety standards.
  • Maintain regular communications with the China QC team and offer relevant training and assistance where needed.
  • Work as part of a team to make certain that support is given to all areas of the business
  • Regularly travel to the China to build strong relationships with your APA colleagues as well as meeting existing and new suppliers and continue to build your understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant legislation and quality specifications.
  • Liaise with 3rd party labs to ensure Matrix APA is minismising testing costs and receiving the best possible service levels and lead-times.
  • Give final confirmation that all samples received are approvable for form and function.
  • Keep up to date with changes in EC and US legislation, specifically for toys, gifts and cosmetics including testing techniques to highlight any possible failures early in the development process.
  • Research and attend training courses where necessary.
  • Work closely to manage and resolve any quality issues that arise. Communicate back to UK account management team so clients can be updated accordingly and critical path managed effectively.
  • Ensure all testing is carried out in a timely manner in advance of shipment dates.
  • Communicate and resolve any testing problems which may evolve during the testing process.
  • Collate necessary information from all sources, to compile technical files relating to the New Toy Safety Directive.
  • Keep clear and concise records assigning testing costs to individual products, so a library of costs is built up for future quotes.
